Removing Candle Wax

For spilled wax on carpets and upholstery, put a brown paper bag over the dried wax and run a hot iron over it. The bag will absorb the hot wax.
Dried wax on wood floors can be removed by softening the wax with a hair dryer, then removing with paper towels. Wash spot down with a combination of vinegar and water.

Cleaning Mini Blinds

Slip your hands into a pair of socks for cleaning the mini blinds. Dip one hand into a bucket of warm, soapy water and hold the blinds between your two hands. Rub back and forth until you've cleaned the whole surface. Then reverse sides so the dry sock dries the blinds.
Wipe mini blinds with damp fabric softener sheets to eliminate static that collects dust.

Removing Pet Hair from Furniture

Here is a tip for cleaning pet hair off of furniture.

It really works and you don't have to lug out the vacuum cleaner. Just wear a damp rubber glove and swipe over the couch and pillows. This method will remove the hair by clumping it all together and then you can simply lift it off. You won't believe how effective it is.

Removing Rust Stains

To remove rust or iron stains from sinks or toilets use Iron Out. This is a great product that we use on tough iron and rust stains. Wet the area and treat the area with Iron Out. Let stand a few minutes then scrub the stain until the rust is gone. Rinse thoroughly. Iron Out can be purchased at most grocers.
Caution: Be sure to use in a well ventilated area and wear a mask if possible.

Furniture Cleaning

For fine furniture we recommend Holloway House Lemon Oil.
Recommended by master wood craftsmen and upscale furniture manufacturers around the world, Holloway House Lemon Oil is a pure, highly refined natural oil that deeply moisturizes and preserves wood giving it a rich, natural glow. It also contains Sun-Guard to protect finishes from fading due to daylight and direct sunlight.

Bathroom Cleaning

To clean sinks, tubs, showers and toilets, Clorox Bath Cleaner works great and is safe on most surfaces. Clorox Clean-up works great on toilet bowls. Soft Scrub also works great on sinks and showers.

Kitchen Cleaning

For cleaning stainless steel appliances and sinks we use and recommend Simple Green Stainless Steel Cleaner which can be purchased at Home Depot. For countertops, never use a disinfectant cleaner. The disinfectant can seep into food when placed on the counter.

Window Cleaning

For really tough window cleaning jobs, we use sudsy ammonia. Mix ammonia in a bucket of water and put a few squirts of Dawn Dish Liquid in the solution. Clean windows with the sudsy ammonia and microfiber cleaning cloths. Dry windows with a terry or cotton cleaning cloth.
